The law was hailed at a press conference this week as a leap forward in New York’s effort to make the state’s roadways safer.

More than 50 swimmers dove into the Bay at the Narrasketuck Yacht Club and swam for two miles to Amityville Village Beach; all to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes. This was the second year the event was held in Amityville.

This story contains a video Next month, the Town of Babylon will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the trolley lines in Babylon. In recognition of that event, the Town's Historic and Preservation Commission invited elementary school students to write an essay on Babylon’s trolley days. Sixteen schools were recognized with winners in the contest at an awards ceremony held at Town Hall on Sat., May 15.
